A Minimalist/Post-Dubstep Fix

I'm pretty much addicted to minimalist music at the moment. I got into it after hearing James Blake on The BBC Sound of 2011 and started hunting around for similar sounds. Minimalist/Post-Dubstep is very personal and should only involve yourself and a pair of very good headphones.

Avoid speakers, this is for your mind only. Enjoy.

Here is what I think works for the genre so far:

Mount Kimbie has an album out from last year, but this a brilliant remix of Andreya Triana.

James Blake's new single from his self-titled album. I love that album; listened to it so many times, beautiful music.

How To Dress Well. This tune has so many great layers to it.

Phaeleh. This is more American Beauty meets Garage, however, other than being a faster tempo it still suits this almost garage-esque rebirth. The original is 7 minutes long on Spotify.

Nosaj Thing. A great album available, however this is one of my favourite xx remixes.

Nicolas Jaar is the closest artist that you will find to James Blake. His debut album will be out early this year. It has also been leaked already and is very deep and intimate.

Jamie xx. His sound/remixes are more dubstep than anything else, but I had to give him a mention as he is the most talented DJ in the UK. This is a great remix with a post-dubstep touch.
